A Lifetime Worth of Sight: Tom’s EVO ICL Experience
Tom knew it was time to have EVO ICL after a painful experience with contacts. Watch as he explains what made him try ClearSight and how his life as changed for the better!
Tom: I always did feel tethered to my glasses. Often I would wake up and have a small anxiety attack because I couldn’t find my glasses sometimes. There was a triggering event. I got commercial soap in my eyes when I had my contacts in, and that was a very painful experience to have to get my contacts out, flush with water, and everything like that. After that, I made the definite decision that I had to get some sort of fix.
When I moved to Oklahoma City, I did a search in the area to see some of the centers around here that did it, and ClearSight came up as the number one rated. I made a free consultation, and they told me that I couldn’t get LASIK, but I could get ICL. They explained it to me as instead of making a laser correction, they would just cut a small flap and insert a contact lens that could later be removed or changed if needed. So that was always a good safety net almost.
I came in, and they took me back. They explained to me what was going to happen, gave me a little bit of medicine, and then Dr. Luke went in. It was a real fast procedure, just the left eye, then the right eye. It didn’t hurt at all. It was a little unusual, but it wasn’t painful in any way, so that was a pleasant surprise.
A day or two afterwards, once it really sunk in and I just woke up for the first time and it was sunny, the sun was coming in the windows, there was the whole effect, and it was phenomenal.
Through financing, I’m still paying for it, but I justify it as a one-time expense to pretty much have a lifetime worth of sight. I think that it was a great experience for me personally. With such a dramatic vision change, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that it was safe to get. ClearSight was a great facility to get it at. I’m glad that I did it here.
