More About Dr. Anna

Dr. Anna Edmiston MD - Clearsight LASIK and Lens in Oklahoma City and now Plano, TX - with a patient celebrating a successful LASIK eye surgery at Clearsight LASIK and Lens.

Why Plano for your practice?

While we are new to Texas, my family and I have been enjoying getting to know Plano and all of the wonderful people, restaurants, concerts, and cultural immersion in the city. I grew up in Alabama, and the friendliness of the residents in Plano reminds me of home.

What do you like to do for fun when you aren’t performing vision correction procedures?

When I’m not in the office, you might find me and my family hiking at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, on walks, or going to a concert down in the city. We love to cook, and we are always trying out new foods. When we have time, we will travel to Spain, Mexico, or the mountains in Colorado.

Inside the clinic, a skilled technician in a surgical cap, mask, and gloves expertly operates a Zeiss machine for an eye examination. The wall clock ticks softly as ClearSight LASIK technology demonstrates its precision.

Did you consider any other medical specialties before deciding on refractive surgery?

While considering ophthalmology, I was also interested in internal medicine and neurology.  The study of “how things work” in neurology and medicine was fascinating to me. It wasn’t until I found an ophthalmology mentor that I realized my love for ophthalmology. To see someone’s sight improve from surgery was incredible. Ophthalmology is also one of the few fields in medicine that combines surgery and clinic.  It is a blessing to not only do surgery but develop a rapport with patients.
