Franchell’s glasses and contacts were preventing her from enjoying sports. After having the new SMILE procedure, everything changed. Watch as Franchell talks about her ClearSight experience.
Franchell: When I finally got glasses, it’s like “Oh okay, I’m walking around with these glasses on my face, but I could see,” but the frustration because I was involved in so many sports. It’s like, okay make sure I put these contacts in, but you know they’re going to dry out. Then it’s like, okay, you take ’em out, then your eyes are irritated. You’re stuck with these glasses once again.
I got tired of the glasses, and I figured you only live once, try it out, let’s see. I called, set up a consultation, and from there I did it!
The staff, as soon as you walk in the door, you’re greeted with a warm smile, and I just love the environment. Once the procedure started, with them talking to throughout the whole thing, it just felt comforting, and I knew that I wasn’t alone because I had somebody tell me, “Franchell, you’re doing great, you’re doing great. It’s almost over. We got it.”
It’s a small procedure, you’re fully awake throughout the whole time, and it’s a small incision in the part of your eye where it’s in the form of a smile, they just taking it out. It’s not incision where they’re creating a flap, or making a flap go back down. It’s just taking out that little piece.
My recovery was great. They did explain to me that I could experience some dryness and some itchiness. I did have the itchiness but that was only for the first few days, but the dryness, I never had it.
It’s better now because I still play sports, and I don’t have to worry about where are my contacts, or my glasses, make sure I have the eye wipes for my eyes. I couldn’t ask for a better place to work on my vision.
Don’t be afraid, step out!
