Christie struggled eye pain, irritation, and infections after years of wearing contacts. After LASIK, her eyes are the best they’ve ever been. Watch as Christie describes why LASIK is worth every penny.
Christie: I first started wearing glasses in second grade. I remember I sat in the back of the classroom. I couldn’t see the projection screen up at the front so I had to walk up in the middle of the classroom to be able to see it. I finally was able to qualify for contacts whenever I was in sixth grade. That was a total life changer right there but I was not a good contact patient.
Probably back in 2010, I was seeing this eye doctor and I got some real bad eye infections and I went to him and he gave me the prescriptions to get rid of that. After that point, with the eye infection and stuff like that, I couldn’t wear contacts like I used to. My eyes would hurt. It would become so dry, irritated, anything so I mean I could wear them to go to work and then I’d have to come home and put on my glasses. I was like, “That’s it. I’m at least going for a consultation. I’m just going to go and see if I could qualify, see if I can get this done because it’s just going to be a huge life changer for me if I can get it.”
I was nervous. I’m not going to lie. I mean it’s always nervous going into a procedure, especially one you’re volunteering to go do. You sit down in that chair and the nurse that talks to you, she’s calm, cool, which calms you down. There’s no surprises really for it. They tell you exactly what’s going to happen and that’s exactly what happens and then it was done. It was 5, 10 seconds, if that.
It’s been such a life changer for me. It really honestly has because I don’t have to worry about taking my contacts out. My eyes don’t hurt like that.
They have so many different options and so many different payment plans for somebody that … I’m a struggling female to support myself. Spending $5,000, $6,000 wasn’t an option for me all in one go. The only way that I could do it would be to afford it in payment plans and stuff like that and they work with you to be able to make it where it’ll fit your budget. Where it’s not going to break the bank and any option that they give you and you can afford it, it’s worth it because like I said, it is a life changer.
You won’t regret it. You will not regret going in there and just sitting down and talking with ClearSight to be able to get this surgery.
