Christopher: It was Thanksgiving at my grandma’s house. My parents asked me what the time was. There’s this huge clock on the wall. I couldn’t see the clock at all. Couldn’t make out anything. I think it really became a hassle when I got into high school, honestly, because I started sports. Glasses just made everything so inconvenient. Having to worry about them getting smashed. Have to worry about this. Then, even when I got contacts, I still had to worry about losing them. It’s always really been a hassle that I’ve just lived with.
I always thought my prescription was so bad. I had an astigmatism. I was like, “I will never be able to do this.” I came in. He just said, “It is absolutely possible.” They said I could get LASIK, but I would get such better results with the EVO ICL surgery. The way they described it and the information that they gave me, I just knew that that was going to be the right decision.
I was so nervous, sitting in that chair. They’re giving me the eye drops. Dr. Luke literally brought me into that room. I laid down. They started. It was just like the snap of your fingers and it was over. I was up.
It was so surreal afterwards. I was in shock because I couldn’t believe it.
I have been a 911 dispatcher for just about two, two and a half years. My eyes don’t get tired anymore from staring at a screen all day. They used to just get dry. My headset, wearing glasses was just such a pain. There’s so much pressure from the ear on there. It pushes into your head. Now, I don’t have to worry about any of it. I go to work. I do my job.
It is one of the most life-changing experiences you will ever have. It’s one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made. It will change your life.
