Another Way to Treat Astigmatism

As a reminder, let’s briefly review what astigmatism is. Astigmatism is just another type of refractive error (like nearsightedness or farsightedness). It typically means the cornea, the clear front window on the front of the eye, is irregularly shaped. This irregular shape focuses light on two places rather than one causing blurry vision. Some may say you can think of it as your cornea being shaped liked a football, meaning that one side is steeper than the other, instead of being shaped round like a basketball.

We wrote previously about the common misconception that people with astigmatism are not a candidate for laser vision correction.
