It’s the Best Thing Ever: Bailey and Diana’s LASIK Experience

September 19, 2017 | LASIK

Bailey and Diana were frustrated by the inconvenience of glasses and contacts. Watch as they describe how LASIK made their lives so much more enjoyable.

Bailey: I initially got glasses in second grade, so I had had them pretty much all my life. I got these big, goofy fat glasses. I thought they were really cool, but everyone else thought they were silly.

Diana: This past year or two, I just had a big problem with my contacts. They wouldn't stay on my eyes. They kept moving around. I spent half the day with my finger in my eye, it seemed like, trying to move my contact lens where it was supposed to be. I was like, "You know what? I'm done. I'm done playing with these stupid things. I'm done having to change them out and throw away a brand-new lens because something's wrong with it and I can't get it to go in right." I was just tired of wasting money on contacts that were still annoying me all the time.

Bailey: I saw tons of great reviews and just no one had said anything bad about it. It just felt safe, felt like I could trust the place, so I came in and got a consult.

I was pretty scared, to be honest. I was pretty nervous. Having surgery on my eyeballs is like a big deal.

Diana: They took me back. They put you in the chair. You get to relax for a little bit and calm down. Then Dr. Luke comes over and tells you what's going to go on.

The procedure itself is really cool. They were very helpful. All the staff was really nice. They made sure that I was comfortable. They played music so you're not all tense or anything, so you can relax a little bit.

Bailey: They talked to me throughout the surgery. I didn't really have a chance to think about what was going on with my eyeballs, because they were just talking to me, chatting with me, helping me stay calm the whole time.

Diana: There was a nurse right here just checking on me. I looked at her and I was like, "I can see you." That was a big deal for me, even though it was blurry. I almost cried. I was so happy that I could see her.

Bailey: I would always have to worry about "Where are my glasses, where are my contacts, did I pack them on my trip, did I take them out before bedtime?" Now, I just wake up. I start my day. I go to bed. I don't have to think about it. It's so nice to just have one thing off my plate when I've got a million others.

Diana: You have no idea what it's like to wake up and just to be able to see. You have no idea how great it is to not have to go, "Okay, where are my glasses?" Or "Where did I put my contact solution?" Or anything like that. It's just so nice to wake up and be able to see. It's the best thing ever.

Bailey: I would say do it. Everybody should.
