Kelly had been wearing glasses and contacts for over 15 years. After the new SMILE procedure, she’s finally able to go to the lake glasses free! Watch as Kelly describes her amazing day at ClearSight.

Kelly: I was in second grade when I started wearing glasses. I couldn’t see the board, and I wore glasses until high school, then contacts for the past 10 years, and eventually I was just, I’m so done with it. I couldn’t wear makeup like I wanted to. I couldn’t go swimming, go to the lake. I couldn’t do anything without worrying oh, I might lose my contacts. What if I have my glasses with me?

It was super easy. I came in for my consultation, and then about three weeks later, I got to come in and get the procedure. Everybody was super nice. It was super easy. Didn’t hurt. I was kind of nervous. I could see everything happening. Dr. Luke was awesome. We played some awesome music during the procedure. He talked to me. There wasn’t one time he was doing something that I didn’t know he was doing, or that he didn’t explain what was about to happen. They told me it was a less invasive procedure, which I found it was awesome, because the next day, my right eye was basically healed, and it was done, and it was awesome.

I’m really glad I didn’t have the flap, because I’ve had a couple other friends that had that, and said it took a little longer for them to heal, and they had to worry about not messing with their eyes and stuff and leaving the flap alone, and all that. I was really excited to get the newer procedure and test it out.

It is so great. I don’t have to worry about anything. It’s awesome. I’ve gone to the lake six times this summer, jumped right in. Didn’t have to worry. You shouldn’t wait because the memories that you can make without having your glasses and contacts, those are indescribable. You can’t pay enough to have perfect vision.
