Millennials Love LASIK

Tired of your contacts drying out during long, late-night study sessions? LASIK might be your answer. Watch as Ashley and Hannah explain why LASIK was the best decision they ever made.
Ashley: I think I got my first set of glasses when I was in fourth grade. And then I got contacts when I was in fifth or sixth grade. So I didn’t have glasses very long and then I wore contacts through the day and then took them off and wore glasses at night.
Hannah: The biggest issues for me were always just like, I always felt like I couldn’t go camping very easily or do anything where I had to spend the night, where I was not going to have contact solution readily available. I remember one time I had to put my contacts into a spoon to keep them overnight one time because I ended up spending the night one time in college without having stuff with me.
Ashley: Summertime got really expensive for me because my contact would always fly out of my eyes even if I was just sitting on the boat. I remember one time I had to catch it right here and I was like, “I don’t even have solution for this, so I’m don’t know what to do.”
Hannah: I’ve been wanting to have LASIK for a while, but I kept asking eye doctors about it. And they kept saying “Well, you should wait until you’re 25 years old. Or wait until you’re more likely to not have your sight be changing or whatever.” But I finally was just like, “Well, I just want to go ahead and get it.” And I wanted to be able to have plenty of time to enjoy it.
Ashley: They made me feel really comfortable about it. I mean, I didn’t really know whenever I was researching, what it was like. And then Dr. Luke explained it to me during my consultation. He was like “Literally we just take these lasers and I know it sounds crazy, but I promise it’s not that bad. We’ll give you medicine to calm you down.” And I was fine. And then he took me back there. And I looked up on the screen and I was like, “Holy cow.” And then I just remember like a little bit of pressure and then they did their thing. And it didn’t take very long and it was done.
Hannah: I guess right afterward, he finished and he goes, “Congratulations, Hannah. You’re no longer nearsighted.” And that was just one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard.
Ashley: Overall, I mean I just feel like LASIK, it sounds weird, but it’s given me a better quality of life because it’s a lot less stuff I have to worry about. Especially being in college, you know, being up late at night, my contacts would just dry out and fall out. And then I would have to wear my glasses. And it was just not okay. Now I can just wake up with 15 minutes to go to class and put on clothes and run out the door.
Hannah: This is your sight you’re talking about. And you have the rest of your life to have to deal with having bad sight. So why not go ahead and go forward with having amazing sight. I think it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And everyone else I’ve talked to who’s had LASIK has said the exact same thing. And it doesn’t hurt!
