All at ClearSight Center,

We're sure you hear this often, but without other words we too are forced to use the same gesture, "thank you"!  However, please know that we are sincere and extremely appreciative of all the care we received!  We have never been to a place like your center - everyone is so happy, loving, caring, patient (no pun intended), and concerned with the patients well-being.  Words can never express the gratitude for the care and the opportunity that this successful surgery has given Stephanie - now whether or not she is accepted to be a part of the aviation branch of the US Army, she has the opportunity to apply and will be a happier, safer member of the US Army armed forces!  Again thank you all for everything!

Blessings in Him Always,

Yvonne Ring and
Sgt. Stephanie Jobbitt

Dr. Wilson, Aimee Hinz, and Staff:

I don't know if you remember me, but I am the soldier/student from Georgia Army National Guard and North Georgia Military College who came to you this summer for help.  I was stationed at Ft. Sills and traveled to Oklahoma City for LASIK/CustomVue so that I could pass my flight physical, apply for a waiver (medical for the LASIK), and complete my Accessions Package - all of which I had to complete within 90 days from the date of my surgery.  After the initial fear (I know - that's an understatement :) ) and surgery itself, I did everything possible that I was instructed to do for the remaining months of initial recovery.     And, thanks to all of you and all of your care and concern, I recovered perfectly!
In the meantime, I got all of my paperwork completed and turned in on time to the US Army.  I was granted a medical waiver for my surgery in October, cleared with "perfect" vision for application for an aviation commission, and turned in all of the appropriate papers on time!  That was all I really wanted or expected at that point - a chance to commission into the field of aviation - a dream come true!

But, as God would have it - that wasn't the end.  On Wednesday, November 1, 2006 I was instructed by the Cadet Cadre to meet at the Military Science Department.  After much teasing on their part, Cadre informed the seniors commissioning in May of 2007 that their branch assignments were here!  At a BBQ for the seniors and their Cadre the branches were awarded.  As I nervously waited, the one comfort was knowing that whatever branch I received, I had no regrets.  In part, thanks to you and all of the ClearSight Center staff - I knew that I had done everything possible to get the branch of my choice, and then it was time... my name was called.  I did it!  I was given the opportunity to fly!  I received one of only two Aviation commissions given at North Georgia Military College and will be attending flight school (as soon as there is an opening following my commission in May, 2007)!

I wanted you to know, as I had told you when I was there over the summer that I would keep you "posted".  I also want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your care and concern, and the professionalism that was shown to both my mom and me as we traveled back and forth from the base to the city.  I have, and will continue, to tell everyone I know of my experience and the one place that they can receive the best care, by the most qualified staff, and with a guarantee - of eye sight, yes, but also of care and professionalism!  I can't begin to thank you enough for your help in the pursuit of my dreams.  Now, I have to go out there and make it happen!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Ann Jobbitt, US Army
