"With the 20/20 guarantee I know that if technology comes about and they can tweak it even more then I am already there.  To me that is just worth everything.  I won the lottery of eyesight you know it is just wonderful.  I really love it."

- Deborah

Here is more of Deborah's story:

I have always had bad vision from the time I was in 6th or 7th grade but my parents were on a limited income so I was in high school before I could acquire glasses.  Then glasses became cheaper, you know 2 pair for $99, and they become more like an accessory.  I could wear the blue pair one day and the gold rim the next or the no rim.  As I got older it became less of an accessory and more of a necessity.  When I started having babies things kind of changed.  The kids would grab at the glasses, so I went to contacts but toric lenses were expensive so I went back to glasses.  This time it was just luck enough that the good Lord sent me the opportunity to have LASIK.  It has just been wonderful.

A friend of mine who lives in the same community that I do had it done but she went to a competitor.  She was giving me the information on the how and why not and how much it cost, all the pertinent information.  I took it a step further, because that is just the kind of person I am.  I started researching everything.

ClearSight Center had a lot of good reviews so I thought this might be something that I really want to do.  My husband had his procedure first.   I was just amazed at how he could see, things he could never see before.  He kept on and on about how well he could see, so I thought okay I see how well you have done and I think I will have mine done too.

I had my surgery about a month ago and it has just been phenomenal.  I love it.  It is just so cool.  It really is neat.  Immediately after the procedure I could see.  I know we are supposed to keep our eyes closed and we are not supposed to look around.  But you know you have to cheat.  You just have to cheat a little.  I did.  I cheated.  I looked around and it was wonderful.  I could already see a difference right then and there.

I am in the trucking industry, so when I compare my Lasik vision to my vision without correction it's like comparing a Peterbuilt to a Freightliner.  Like a Cadillac to a Volvo.

In the morning or at night I reach for my glasses and they are not there and I think, oh man I can actually see.

I think the hardest thing to get used to is when it rains, because you automatically duck your head when you have on glasses.  You don't want to get rain on your lenses and now I can actually look and see where I am going.  Not just look where a puddle is but actually see.

I have also noticed billboards that I would not have even paid attention to before.  They are so clear and not out of context as far as out of the line of vision.  With glasses you have to look over or move your head trying to see it.  Now it doesn't matter which way I move my head I can see.  It's the little things that you just never really noticed before.

Everyone at ClearSight Center took great care of me and answered every question.  No matter what or how trivial or how stupid I thought it was or I might of thought they thought it was.  They answered it.  They really didn't give me the impression of being a dim wit.  You know when it came down to it personally I actually felt intelligent probably asking a stupid question.

I tell everyone to have it done.  Go for the evaluation.  It doesn't cost you a thing. You have plenty of time from the time that you make the appointment till you actually come in for the evaluation.  Make whatever notes you have.  If you have questions go online and research it.  Find out what all the different options are.  Ask questions.  Get everything out in the open and if they haven't heard about it then they will address it and if they have heard about it then they already have an answer for you.  Just go.  Take the first step that is the main thing.  Just go and get it done.

Take the first step and have it done.  You will be amazed.  I just think gosh, why didn't I think of this before.  Why didn't I have this done sooner?  Really and truly if a person had the opportunity to get it done when they are young I would tell them to do it.  They will have so many more years to appreciate it.  However if you are just now thinking about it and you are middle aged you still have a long time left.  Of course we all hope we do.

The idea is do it for yourself.  Don't do it for your family or your friends, do it for you.
